I found the recipe for this delicious smoothie on this website http://www.DianaStobo.com. This is a very informative website for anyone thinking about become raw. The smoothie is called Popeye's Passion. The ingredients are Organic Apple Cider(on the website they suggest that you use Unpasterized Apple Cider), spinach and banana...
Blend until smooth. It is delicious!!!! I have been drinking this smoothie for the past week. Making one for hubby too!!! Note: I put my bananas in the freezer for my smoothies.
I am still eating kale salad just about everyday. I have perfected the dressing for this salad. It's funny how the things that I began eating with the challenge are tasting better to me now. I guess I am getting better at preparing raw things through trial and error. The dressing ingredients are: 1 1/2 cups of olive oil, juice of 5 lemons, 1/3 cup Agave, 3 teaspoons of sea salt, 6 pieces of fresh garlic. Shake well. This makes enough dressing for about 3 bunches of kale. I usually make one bunch at a time and keep the leftover dressing for future use. This dressing probably tastes good on regular lettuce salad.
One thing that I found out from searching websites and recipes that I need to share is when you put the dressing on the kale, the kale needs to be massaged with your hands for the oils to penetrate the kale leaves. The massaging make a huge difference in the taste of the kale.
Basil Pesto...delicious!!!
My good friend Tatiana gave me this recipe...Fresh basil, olive oil, lemons, garlic and sea salt. I spread this deliciousness on a new bread that I am eating...
This is a Sprouted 100% whole grain bread...not too bad especially when it's toasted and I put that delicious basil pesto on it with marinated tomatoes...A delicious meal or snack any day of the week!!!
The tomatoes are marinated with olive oil, sea salt and basil...
Falafel Chips...great for dipping hummus!!!
Falafel patties...delicious!!!!
So, all in all I am still on the Raw Path. Still exploring and seeing what is out there for me to try. Loving life and thankful that I have made this life style change...No looking back!!!
